Electric forklifts
The current NEa electricity guidance explicitly names forklifts among examples of mobile machines.
EREs are not simple green certificates. Behind one tradable unit are legislation, metering data, evidence, REV administration, verification and a market transaction. Here is the chain, with official sources.
The Dutch ERE system is part of the fuel transition obligation. Companies with an obligation need sufficient emission reduction and can obtain EREs by creating eligible units or buying them from other market participants.
The NEa runs the system, manages the REV and supervises compliance. The REV — Register Energy for Transport — is where eligible deliveries are booked and EREs are recorded.
Electricity is delivered to a vehicle or mobile machine in a way that can qualify for booking.
The relevant kWh volume must be measurable and traceable to the transport use.
An authorised party records the delivery in the REV and receives ERE-E.
The administration and bookings are independently verified each year.
EREs can be transferred to parties that need them within the relevant sector.
Internal electric transport is our commercial core. That is where we want to make the biggest difference: large fleets, many operating hours and an existing electricity flow that has not yet been organised as an ERE chain.
The NEa lists explicit examples, but the list is not exhaustive. We assess the actual machine, connection, metered delivery point and evidence.

The current NEa electricity guidance explicitly names forklifts among examples of mobile machines.
High-utilisation warehouse trucks; the delivery and metering setup remain decisive.
Electric order-collection vehicles can be assessed as part of the internal fleet.
A large fleet can create material electricity volume.
For trailers, carts and yard movements on private sites.
Specialist warehouse trucks with potentially high operating hours.
ERE Market assesses the complete chain rather than the machine name alone.
Named by the NEa as an example of a mobile machine.
Also explicitly mentioned in the current NEa guidance.
A named example; the delivery and metering route must still be assessed.
Can be assessed where the actual use and measurement fit the applicable rules.
Mobile equipment is assessed by actual delivery, measurement and evidence.
We assess the exact machine and metering route before confirming potential.
ERE Market assesses the complete chain rather than the machine name alone.
Tractors are named in the current NEa electricity guidance.
Mobile agricultural vehicles can be assessed individually.
Forestry machines are explicitly mentioned as examples.
Other self-propelled equipment can be assessed where the conditions are met.
ERE Market assesses the complete chain rather than the machine name alone.
One electric truck can be assessed if electricity delivery is correctly measured and meets the conditions.
Relevant electricity can be assessed alongside the internal fleet.
The charging point is not the certificate; eligible electricity delivered to transport is.
Vehicle batteries can be assessed where the applicable rules allow it.
The point where electricity is delivered to the vehicle or mobile machine and the quantity is measured.
Where a connection or secondary allocation point is not exclusively for transport, the applicable MID metering requirements must be met.
The renewable share and its evidence affect the number of EREs that can be booked.
Mandates apply to full calendar years and cannot be silently renewed. A company can appoint only one booking service provider per calendar year.
A reliable ERE chain requires technology, metering data, mandates, REV processes, verification and trading to work together. That is exactly where ERE Market operates.
